Client Payroll Administrator

This role will be client-facing and require the balance of priorities for multiple clients, processing multiple payrolls and advising clients on their day-to-day processes and procedures.

Job Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day processes, including weekly, semi-monthly and monthly client payroll processing in multiple states and related activities including wage garnishments and payroll deductions
  • Process transfers to various third parties including retirement contributions, payroll taxes, wage assignments and garnishments
  • Perform month-end close processes, including agency reporting, general ledger auditing and preparing/posting journal entries.
  • Perform quarterly and annual processes, including filing of 941, 940, W2 and other reporting.
  • Partner with client and client business partners to define, establish and implement payroll systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for the client.
  • Facilitate set-up and implementation of new payroll clients
  • Routinely audit and analyze client payrolls and their procedures to ensure continuous accuracy and evolution of processes.
  • Support any ad hoc client requests
  • Develop and refine payroll SOPs

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ of experience working in payroll • Accounting experience is a bonus
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, including federal and state labor compliance and overtime laws in multiple states
  • General understanding of accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient using payroll software
  • Ability to work in multiple payroll systems in conjunction with one another
  • High level of accuracy with minimal errors in all work
  • Ability to work closely with internal and external customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to work in an environment of continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at a time with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a bonus
